In the Beginning | Comparing Genesis 1 and John 1-Part 1

Bereshit is Hebrew for “in the Beginning.”

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… Genesis 1: 1

“In the beginning was the Word…” John 1:1

This blog is the beginning of a journey for me. Unlike our omniscient God, I don’t know where it will lead. 😊

My profession is education (math and language arts), and my passion is Christian education for “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Proverbs 9:10). Over the years I’ve created a lot of resources, and I don’t want them to just collect dust on the shelf. I want them to be used by people! This blog is also a creative way to keep my skills fresh while staying home with my son.

Although I started my career in the classroom, more recently I supported other educators at the state level. At Ohio’s Department of Education (now DEW) I developed and implemented professional development tools and programs statewide to help teachers become better at their craft. My goal in writing this blog is to help encourage and equip Christian educators across all spans of life by providing pedagogical tips and resources. Blog posts and posted resources should be helpful for parents, homeschool parents, Christian school teachers (especially math teachers), public school math teachers, and those who disciple other women in Scripture.
